Meditation has been shown to improve stress levels and to reduce the impact of modern living. Daily meditation can increase one sense of peace and calm. Alan has comprehensively studied meditation since he was 14 years old. Of Allen‘s life had the great fortune to meet many great teachers and was able to learn many meditation techniques. Allen has trained under Buddhist monks, Taoist Sifu, Sufi Masters, and Zen teachers.
After this comprehensive cross-cultural experience of meditation techniques I found a thread that connected them all. The thread of mindfulness practice; the thread of awareness of breath; the thread of somatic body-based practice.
Mindfulness.
This word has spread through many current psychology and counselling modalities. It proves to be as current as it is ancient and eternal.
Ability to bring oneself into the moment purposefully to focus on one’s breath and to centre oneself firmly in the moment. Letting go of future thought and passed thought feeling the full intensity of where you are at right now. Being present in the here now we are able to utilise the opportunities that are in front of us much more fully.
